WVU – U.S. Cellular Contract Page

U.S. Cellular is WVU’s exclusive and official cellular service provider. This page contains information departments and employees need to obtain cellular telephone services under WVU’s contract with U.S. Cellular.

Because of IRS regulations, WVU most cellular accounts should be Personal Responsibility (PRA).

December 2011 EBO Update

Handset Insurance

  1. Individuals with Personal Accounts (PRA) may purchase handset insurance that will cover the cost of replacing your phone if it’s lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair. The cost is $5.95 per line per month with a $50 deductible for voice phones and a $100 deductible for smart phones.
  2. There is no allowance for handset insurance.
  3. Lost, stolen, or damaged phones may also be replaced at U.S. Cellular’s actual cost.
  4. URA Accounts are not eligible for handset insurance.

For Employees Converting Existing WVU Accounts to PRA Accounts

To Transfer Your Existing Phone Number You Will Need:

  1. Your Existing Cellular Billing Account Number AND Exact Account Name – for example: a/c280379431595 – WVU PURHASING DEPARTMENT – Obtain this information from your Business Office
  2. Your Existing Cell Phone number – for example 304.288.3492
  3. Your WVU Picture ID
  4. Your Drivers License
  5. Your Signed Cellular Service Authorization Form – Available from your EBO

For Employees Getting New ServiceWVU Rates or 20% Discount of Standard Consumer Rate Plans

To Obtain New Service You Will Need:

  1. To Visit the U.S. Cellular Store in Sabraton or University Town Center
  2. Provide your WVU Picture ID
  3. Provide your Driver’s License
  4. Provide the WVU Discount Code – PEDE186

For Employees Converting Existing U.S. Cellular Personal Accounts

To Obtain Employee Discounts on Existing U.S. Cellular Personal Accounts You Will Need to:

  1. Visit the U.S. Cellular Web Site: http://uscellular.com/partner
  2. Call U.S. Cellular Customer Support at 800.819.9373

For WVU Students

WVU Students can obtain a 20% discount on standard consumer rate plans on new or existing U.S. Cellular Accounts by:

  1. Visiting the U.S. Cellular Store in Sabraton or University Town Center
  2. Provide your WVU Picture ID
  3. Provide your Driver’s License
